UNICEF HK’s Radio Programme ‘In the Shoes of Children’ – Episode 7th ‘Breastfeeding: Nurturing Babies for the Future’
Hong Kong Committee for UNICEF (UNICEF HK) launched a new radio show, ‘In the Shoes of Children’. The 13-episode programme calls on the public to hear the voices of children. Our junior DJs are exploring critical issues faced by children in their first ‘7,000 Days of Life’, including climate change, mental health and how to build a child friendly city with stakeholders from various sectors.
Dr. Rosanna Wong, Chairperson of the Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative Hong Kong Association (BFHIHKA), and Ms. Christine Lam, Vice-Chairperson of BFHIHKA, shed light on the development of breastfeeding in Hong Kong and highlighted its benefits, such as the presence of live antibodies in breast milk that strengthen infants' immunity systems and enhance their health. The episode also explored the support provided by society for breastfeeding and shared insights on the establishment of Hong Kong Breast Milk Bank.
‘In the Shoes of Children’ is now on air every Saturday 8:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on the RTHK Putonghua Channel, as well as RTHK ON THE GO, RTHK apps, and rthk.hk website. To listen in, please click on: https://www.rthk.hk/radio/pth/programme/g1510_in_the_shoes_of_children
